2026I'm Lorenzo. I write Java, run my own homelab, and like understanding what happens underneath the application, from program logic to Linux, DNS, containers, and networks.
I prefer understanding something properly before rushing to the next topic.
ABOUT
Programming got me interested in software. Wanting to understand everything underneath it pulled me into systems.
I wanted to know where traffic goes after an application starts, how DNS finds a service, what Linux is doing behind the scenes, how a container is isolated, and what happens when one dependency suddenly disappears.
Eventually those questions became HELIOS, my physical homelab. It gives me somewhere real to experiment with virtualization, Linux, Docker, networking, DNS, monitoring, remote access, and backups.
The most useful lab is one important enough that you care when it breaks.

Built while turning isolated Java exercises into one program where methods, loops, input, and application flow had to work together.
